Fun without the fireworks

Our 4th of July was very low key this year. A nice extended weekend with not a lot on our plate. We were planning on going to the Pfirecracker Pfestival (don't ask, it's a Pf thing around here) and took the shuttle bus out to the lake. Colin had only ridden a bus once before and wasn't quite sure how to take it but this time he loved it. After a trip around the food booths and getting his face painted, we went down to the lake and dipped our feet in to cool off. The heat took it's toll and we decided to go wait for the shuttle bus to head back. Colin was very excited about the bus and got extremely pissed when the bus to the other school came and went. Of course he didn't understand that we couldn't take that bus. Finally our bus came and he was thrilled to get on again and talked about it the whole way back to our car. How am I going to break the news to him that he won't be able to ride the school bus until jr. high? We live too close to the elementary school and he'll have to ride his bike or be a car rider. After getting home, we were just exhausted and didn't feel like heading back out after the sun set so we settled for some Neil Diamond fireworks on tv and put Colin to bed. Next year he'll be really excited and into the fireworks.Doesn't this look like Colin should belong to Angelina Jolie? He's got that death grip on that cheeto bag yet this was only the 2nd time he's had cheetos. Oh and Colin's wearing my hat, we lost his hat in the ocean when we went to the beach and I haven't gotten him a new one yet.

2 peeps thought this was cool:

Laughing at the CHEETOS. We had a low-key 4th too ... I believe that we all slept through fireworks in Omaha ... teehee!
