Weekend Getaway

Jay and I went to Fredericksburg this weekend for a very nice and relaxing getaway. My parents gave me a weekend at a B&B for my birthday this past summer and have finally had time to use it. They also offered to come down and watch Colin for us so we could have a weekend to ourselves. Boy was it nice! The cabin we stayed at was about 10 minutes outside of Fredericksburg on 300 acres and was so nice and peaceful. We had our own little side of the house that had a bedroom and bathroom and a tiny little kitchenette. There was a patio outback that had a bbq pit and each suite had it's own private hot tub. We went to Fredericksburg Friday night for dinner and then back to the cabin. Saturday morning we made our way to Luckenbach and then on to Fredericksburg and did some shopping. Jay had one thing on his mind and that was weinersnitzel. A gentleman in Luckenbach told Jay about a Bier Garten that we needed to visit so that was a must stop for us. After lunch we walked around a bit more and then headed back to the cabin. We went back to Luckenbach and got the touristy t-shirts and had a few beers and listened to the house band for a bit. We then headed back to Fredericksburg for dinner and to the Christmas Festival that was around the market square. Of course this morning we had to get up bright and early to come home. We just missed Colin so much that we couldn't stand it any more. He had such a great time with Nana & Papa though. I knew he'd be fine and would get spoiled rotten. Thanks again for watching him and letting Jay and I have a fantastic weekend!

This was the Pedernales Electric Co-Op in Johnson City. If you can imagine, we could see these lights from 290 and had to go see what the heck had the sky lit up so much. The pictures just don't do the lights justice, it was truly magical.
